The MaineHealth Intellectual Property and Business Development Committee is appointed by the Chief Academic Officer with approval from the MaineHealth Chief Executive Officer, MaineHealth President and Maine Medical Center President.

The Committee is responsible for the following:

• Making recommendations on whether and/or how much of MaineHealth resources to invest to support the development of an invention
• When to license, to whom, and for how much: or to sell outright, if possible.
• Whether to take ownership position in a company that will develop/market as part of license fee
