INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The purpose of MaineHealth Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property (IP) is to foster the discovery and the development of inventions by MaineHealth workforce members that will advance the delivery of healthcare for the benefit of the public. After thorough review of other health system policies, MaineHealth developed its Intellectual Property Policy, which was approved by its Board of Trustees in December 2020. The Policy applies to all MaineHealth care team members and distributes any earned IP income between the inventor, the inventor’s department and MaineHealth to fund future research and innovations.
